What's New?
MS Centre of Hope opens in Sudbury, Ontario. The MS Centre
of Hope is a newly renovated, wheelchair accessible centre
that will be a home for socialization, education and self-help
activities for the multiple sclerosis community.
32 Ontario students receive MS scholarships! The 2008 MS Society
of Canada Scholarship Program has awarded $79,750 in scholarships
to 80 students. Of the 80 scholarships awarded, 32 were to
Ontarians. The MS Society of Canada Scholarship Program, supported
by Billy Talent and Friends, is a post-secondary scholarship
program for teens and young adults in Canada who have MS or
who have a parent with MS. This is the second year of the program.
Meet the recipients.
As students head back to school, many will include the MS
Read-A-Thon as a valuable part of their year. If you are a
teacher or parent, consider getting your school involved in
this fun, educational way to help fight MS!
Thanks to all who helped to support this year’s RONA
MS Bike Tours by cycling, volunteering, or sponsoring a
cyclist. Ontarians raise $2.2 million through the tours each
year, contributing
to a national total of more than $8 million!
